Silent Auction Rules
Welcome to Gourmets for God 2025, a FUNdraising Silent Auction for the Center for Spiritual Living Greater Las Vegas designed to bring together those attending the Center to meet, enjoy fellowship, have fun and raise money.
-
Your bid is a contract. Please do not bid if you cannot attend or afford the price.
-
Each bidder must bid on a separate line. If you want to attend as a couple or a family, please use a separate line for each person and bracket your names so we know to keep you together.
-
Please do not raise the bid by less than $5.00
-
If you find you have been outbid and you would like to keep bidding, put your name on a new line with your new higher bid. Do not erase, cross out or change your original bid(s).
-
All winning tickets must be paid for by September 7, 2025. We accept cash, checks and credit cards. Your ticket price is tax deductible
-
If you win an auction but later find you are unable to attend, it is your responsibility to resell your ticket or give it away. Remember, this is a FUNdraiser for your Center.
There are twelve events featuring every imaginable form of culinary entertainment and you have the opportunity to bid on seats at these events. All of the events take place between September 13, 2025 and January 25, 2026. During the four weeks of our silent auction, you will be able to bid on as many events as you can attend.
How to Bid
The bidding works like this:
Let’s say a host offers a chicken barbecue for ten people with a starting bid of $20. You bid by signing up for a bid number. Then simply put your number and name on the bid sheet and write the amount of your bid next to your name. After ten people have bid $20, the eleventh person must place a higher bid. This bumps the most recent low bidder off the guest list. (If you are the first bidder, you have the best chance of winning the event).
Keep checking the bid sheets. If you were outbid and you want to attend the event, you can counter with an even higher bid. Write it on a different line. At the end of 4 weeks, the highest ten bidders have bought a ticket to the meal. They are given a packet with the address and necessary information for the event. Then, they show up at the appointed time and place for a great time, great food and great fellowship. Remember, in case of a tie, the earliest bidder will win. As you have probably figured out, it’s smart strategy to put your bids in early for the events you want to attend and keep checking.
That’s it. Bid early and Bid often then go and have fun!
